Introducing Us

Sandie and Andy have owned their property since 1998. The farm was rough and undeveloped. Over the 20 years they have planted 4000 trees an organic orchard and gardens that reflect old country charm. The house site is awash with blue and white hydrangeas and yellow calla lilies in summer .In spring  there are irises and daffodils. The statuesque phoenix palms frame the front yard all year round and the tall poplar lined drive gives a feeling of majesty as one approaches the property. Sheep and cows are in the surrounding paddocks completing the rural atmosphere and creating quite unique photo-opportunities.

In 2018 family friends asked if they could use the house site for a marque wedding for 140 guests.

The wedding was beautiful and a great success. The ceremony itself was held at Whangamata beach and while the formal photos were taking place guests were able to come back to the farm and enjoy champagne and refreshments while playing petanque, quoits, jenga and limbo. Hay bales were scattered around with rugs for seats. As the bridal party arrived everyone proceeded to the marque for the wedding breakfast by local caterers.

It was a great success with so many positive compliments about how perfect the property was for  rustic farm style weddings but with the charm of beautiful flower gardens illuminated by fairy lights Andy and Sandie decided to host weddings at a commercial scale.

Andy and Sandie love to work with couples to help them create their dream wedding with their own special touches. It is exciting to see how different people will chose to use the property.

Being Whangamata locals Sandie and Andy can recommend caterers, florists, musicians, hire centres and marriage celebrants who all contribute to the special day.
